Careers at IndexSmarts

A small, senior team doing SEO, AI search, paid media, and engineering for clients who expect the work to actually ship. When we hire, we hire carefully — and we read everything that reaches us in between.

Open Roles

No open roles right now

Every seat on the team is filled at the moment. That changes with little notice — roles here usually open because a client engagement grows — and when it does, we go back to the applications already on our desk before we post anything publicly.

So if the work below sounds like yours, write to us anyway. Tell us what you do and what you want to do next, and we will keep you in mind.

Applications go straight to indexsmarts@gmail.com.

What We Look For

Four things matter more to us than years on a CV — worth reading before you write, so you know whether this is a fit.

Depth in One Craft

Technical SEO, paid media, content, or engineering — we would rather hire someone genuinely strong in one discipline than passable at four.

Ownership, Not Tickets

You will run your own accounts and decisions. That means the ability to prioritise, push back, and explain a call to a client without a manager in the room.

Plain-Language Communication

Most of this job is explaining a technical decision to someone who is not technical. Clear writing counts as much as clean work.

Genuine Curiosity

Search changes every quarter, and AI answer engines are rewriting the rules again. People who read, test, and share what they learn do well here.

Why Work Here

A small team, real ownership, no layers

You talk to clients directly

No account-manager buffer relaying your work second-hand. You present your own recommendations and hear the response first-hand.

Four disciplines under one roof

Sit next to people doing paid media, AI search, and engineering. Few agencies this size let you see a strategy through from audit to deployment.

Work that stays current

AI answer engines are changing search right now. You will be working on the new problem, not maintaining tactics from five years ago.

How We Hire

Four steps, with a straight answer at the end of each one.

Step 1

You Write to Us

Send your CV or portfolio with a short note on what you want to work on. Links to real work — a site you fixed, a campaign you ran, a repo — carry more weight than a formatted résumé.

1
Step 2

Intro Conversation

A relaxed call about what you have done, what you want next, and how we work. You should be interviewing us just as much in this one.

2
Step 3

Practical Exercise

A short, realistic task in your discipline — an audit, a campaign plan, a small build — reviewed by the person you would be working alongside. No trick questions, no whiteboard puzzles.

3
Step 4

Offer & Onboarding

We discuss scope, compensation, and start date openly, then set you up with a first project and a clear owner to learn from.

Questions From Applicants

What people usually ask before they write to us.

Yes. Roles here usually open because a client engagement grows, which happens with little notice. We keep speculative applications on file and go back to them first when that happens, so a good note now often beats a rushed application later.
A CV or LinkedIn profile, links to work you are proud of, and two or three sentences on the kind of work you want to do next. Please skip generic cover letters — we would rather read something specific and short.
Technical and on-page SEO, paid media and performance marketing, content strategy and writing, and front-end and full-stack development across our four practice areas.
Our office is in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali), Punjab. Working arrangements are discussed role by role, so tell us what you need and we will be straight with you about what is possible.
We aim to reply to every application, including the ones we cannot take forward. If a few weeks pass with no reply, a polite follow-up to the same address is welcome.

Think You'd Fit Here?

We would rather hear from you early than miss you when a role opens. Send a short note and a link to work you are proud of.
